As community-based researchers, we value the community’s contribution to research. Learning about the needs of the community and ways to improve mental health services and training programs is of high importance to us! We are interested in hearing from a diverse group of individuals who are invested in suicide prevention either personally or professionally that can share their voices and join our Community Advisory Board. The purpose of the Community Advisory Board is to help guide and inform FL LEADS project practices to better meet the needs of diverse populations in the state.
Involvement in the Community Advisory Board requires participation in 1-hour virtual meetings, approximately 6-7 times a year. During these meetings, we will share updates on the project and ask for your assistance in providing any insights or recommendations on programmatic and/or evaluation activities. We may create subcommittees to work on special projects—all efforts will be aimed at improving awareness about suicide and enhancing existing suicide prevention efforts. A small token of appreciation will be provided for your participation (provided at each meeting attended). See roles and responsibilities document for more details.
